Dennis is a Colorado native who grew up close to Denver University, Downtown Denver and within a short driving distance of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.  As a young boy, his family took trips to the mountains to hike, fish and backpack.  In high school he moved to Englewood, a suburb of Denver.  It was at this time that he fell in love with photography (via the old fashioned film camera and darkroom processing).  In his college years, Dennis studied the fundamentals of photography: proper composition, and exposure, subject matter and controlled depth of field.

Fast forward after many years of putting photography aside to work and provide for his family… Over the past several years Dennis gave into the concept of digital photography after his film camera died.  Ironically, it was through the tools in his digital camera that he finally found “new eyes” to express the creativity he felt in photography.  Through this new way of seeing things he was able to capture vivid color pictures in his own backyard, in the Denver University neighborhood where he grew up, in the architecture of Downtown Denver, and in the mountains where he spent happy times as a child.

The first time Dennis had the opportunity to visit a foreign country he also used those “new eyes” to view popular places and scenery near Cancun, Mexico in a non-cliché way.

Walking into my local coffee shop, Nixon’s,
I was captured by the colors created throughout the images on the wall.
Thank you Dennis!
